Referee, judges assigned for Alex Pereira vs. Magomed Ankalaev title fight at UFC 313
by Damon Martin · MMA FIGHTINGThe referee and judges working the UFC 313 main event between Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev have been assigned by the Nevada Athletic Commission.
During a monthly meeting on Wednesday, the commission approved the assignments to work the light heavyweight title fight taking place March 8 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Marc Goddard is set to serve as the referee in the main event where Pereira is seeking his fourth consecutive title defense since winning light heavyweight gold back in 2023.
As for the judges, Mike Bell, Derek Cleary and Sal D’Amato are set to score the matchup scheduled for five rounds.
The fight serves as Ankalaev’s second attempt at becoming UFC champion after he fought to a split draw with Jan Blachowicz in 2022. Since that fight, Ankalaev has gone 2-0 with one no-contest, including a knockout over Johnny Walker and a decision win against Aleksandar Rakic in his most recent outing this past October.
As for Pereira, he’s quickly become one of the most bankable stars on the entire UFC roster with five consecutive wins since moving to the light heavyweight division after previously holding the middleweight title.
The Brazilian delivered a memorable 2024 campaign with three title fights while scoring a trio of knockouts over Jamahal Hill, Jiri Prochazka and Khalil Rountree.
Pereira attempts to add another knockout to his resume when he clashes with Ankalaev on March 8 in the UFC 313 main event.
The rest of the referee and judging assignments are set to be determined during fight week in Las Vegas.
