The 27-year-old has made significant progress towards committing his international future to the Black Stars, with documents now being prepared for FIFA’s consideration.
Nketiah has been eligible to play for Ghana through his family background and has previously been approached about switching his allegiance.
The former Arsenal forward’s move would be a major boost for Ghana as the Black Stars look to strengthen their attack for upcoming international competitions.
Nketiah has recovered from a knock and has become a regular under new Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage.
He started Palace’s 3-2 comeback win over Fulham on September 5 and provided the assist for Tyrick Mitchell’s first goal.
Although Nketiah has played for England at senior level, he can still change his international allegiance under FIFA rules because his only senior appearance came in a non-competitive match.
He made his England debut in a friendly against Australia in October 2023 but has not played for the senior team since.
FIFA rules allow players to change their international association in certain situations when their senior appearances have only come in non-competitive matches.
