Girls' Generation member Yuri's exclusive contract with SM Entertainment, the agency she has been with since her trainee days, is set to expire next month, raising questions about whether she will renew or join a new agency.

According to an industry source on July 4, Yuri's exclusive contract with SM Entertainment will expire next month, ending a 25-year relationship that began when she joined the company as a trainee in 2001. She is currently weighing whether to renew her contract or sign with a new agency.

As Yuri has been active as both a singer and an actress, she is also reportedly considering moving to an agency that specializes in actor management. However, she is said to be reviewing various options, including renewing with SM Entertainment, as she plans to continue activities with Girls' Generation members Hyoyeon and Sooyoung as part of the unit HyoRiSoo.

Yuri joined SM Entertainment as a trainee in 2001 after winning the "Dance King" title at the Youth Best Contest. After six years of training, she debuted with Girls' Generation in 2007. Since 2016, she has expanded her acting career, appearing in both television dramas and films.

As a member of Girls' Generation, Yuri helped define K-pop's global rise with hit songs including 'Into the New World,' 'Gee,' 'Genie,' 'Oh!,' 'The Boys,' 'I GOT A BOY,' and 'FOREVER 1.' As an actress, she has built a diverse filmography with dramas including 'Defendant,' 'Good Job,' 'Bossam: Steal the Fate,' and 'Parole Examiner Lee Han Shin.'
