Jeon Hyosung opens up about forced hiatus and long road back to music

SECRET member Jeon Hyosung has candidly opened up about the reason behind her lengthy hiatus from entertainment activities.

On June 18 KST, she appeared on the YouTube channel A-Class Jang Young Ran, where she reflected on the challenges she faced during her time away from the spotlight.

During the conversation, host Jang Young Ran visited Jeon’s home and asked about her recent activities. Known for her successful career with SECRET and as a solo artist, Jeon revealed that an unexpected issue with her agency forced her to take a break from the industry.

“There were some problems with the company, so I ended up taking a break involuntarily,” she said. “At that time, I often wondered what I would do if I were no longer an entertainer.”

The sudden halt in her career led her to seriously consider her future and life beyond the entertainment world. However, rather than viewing the hiatus negatively, she chose to use the time for personal growth.

Jeon shared that she spent more time with her family and even earned a pet care specialist certification during the break. She explained that she explored various interests while searching for new possibilities outside of her entertainment career.

Despite the uncertainty, her passion for music never faded.

“Since two years ago, I really wanted to sing again,” she said. “I started preparing for a return to the stage.”

That dream recently became a reality. On June 18, Jeon Hyo Seong reunited with Jung Ha Na and new member Yebin to release SECRET’s special mini album 'Secret Flavor', marking the group’s return to music activities for the first time in 12 years.

The comeback has been warmly welcomed by fans, many of whom are celebrating both the group’s reunion and Jeon’s heartfelt return to performing.
