Lee Da Hee opens up about painful breakup from 3-year relationship
by Janie-Reign · allkpopLee Da Hee (41) revealed that she previously dated a boyfriend for three years and experienced a painful aftermath following the breakup.
In the 6th episode of tvN’s variety show ‘Six Single Under One Roof (Gugidong Friends),’ stars Jang Do Yeon, Lee Da Hee, Choi Daniel, Jang Geun Suk, Ahn Jae Hyun, and Kyung Soo Jin took part in special experiences made possible through having “close friends of the opposite sex.”
First, Choi Daniel, Jang Geun Suk, and Ahn Jae Hyun participated in a “ceramic dating” event, enjoying a group meetup atmosphere as they made pottery and took part in romance Q&A sessions with female participants. During a later one-on-one conversation, Jang Geun Suk asked to speak with a female participant whom Choi Daniel had shown interest in.
Although each of the three men was chosen by a female participant during the “ceramic dating” event, all of their pairings ultimately fell through as their selections did not align.
While the male friends were out at the event, honest “girls’ talk” unfolded at the Gugidong house. Jang Do Yeon, Lee Da Hee, and Kyung Soo Jin watched a dating program together and naturally discussed marriage and relationships.
In particular, Lee Da Hee opened up about breaking up with a partner she had dated for three years, while Kyung Soo Jin shared her own experience of ending a seven-year relationship, offering more mature reflections on the past.
Lee Da Hee said, “I’ve experienced losing weight because of emotional pain,” adding, “When I broke up with someone I had dated for a long time—about three years—I couldn’t do anything. I kept trying to hold on after they said they wanted to break up.”
She continued, “I was so heartbroken that I went on a trip to Ulsan with my family, but I still couldn’t do anything even then. Even now, it still hurts when I think about it. We got back in contact and met again, and then dated for a long time after that, but eventually broke up again. By then, I felt I had done everything I could for that person, so I was okay.”
In the evening, the cast, now fully dressed up, headed out to a high-end restaurant. Kyung Soo Jin especially drew attention in a striking red dress. She agreed to partner with Choi Daniel to fulfill his “bucket list” wish of dancing the blues, and the pair’s unique performance—dancing to piano accompaniment—caught viewers’ attention.
Jang Geun Suk also revealed his own bucket list for the first time, saying he wanted to consult a wedding planner to explore real-life marriage preparations. Having often spoken about marriage with the group, he said, “I want to build my own team and family and protect them well—that might be my final bucket list.”
He added that if he meets a trustworthy partner with whom he can build a life, he is ready to get married at any time.
The following day, the group headed to a photo studio to fulfill Ahn Jae Hyun’s bucket list of taking classic family-style photos. At the end of the broadcast, a mysterious guest arrived at the Gugidong house, sparking curiosity.
