Park Bo Young and Son Suk Ku in talks for new fantasy rom-com from 'Scandal Makers' director
by spjw99 · allkpopActress Park Bo Young and actor Son Suk Ku are in talks to star together in a new fantasy romantic comedy.
On July 8, reports said the two were offered the lead roles in 'If I'm With You' (working title), the latest project from director Kang Hyeong Cheol, known for films like 'Scandal Makers' and 'Sunny.' The film is described as a fantasy rom-com that follows the various episodes that unfold among Korean and foreign actors aboard a cruise ship. The project will be produced by Sidus Corporation and distributed by NEW.
The potential casting is notable for Park Bo Young. If she accepts the role, it will mark her reunion with director Kang Hyeong Cheol for the first time in 18 years since their 2008 film 'Scandal Makers.' The movie, which drew 8.22 million viewers, was the director's feature debut and launched a young Park Bo Young to stardom.
For Son Suk Ku, known for his intense and masculine characters in projects like 'The Roundup,' 'A Killer Paradox,' and 'My Liberation Notes,' this role would show a completely new side. Anticipation is already building to see the unique romantic chemistry he could create with Park Bo Young, as this would be their first time working together.
In response to the reports, Park Bo Young’s agency, BH Entertainment, officially stated, "‘If I'm With You’ is a project she has received an offer for and is currently reviewing." Both actors have been busy, with Park Bo Young recently starring in the Disney+ series ‘Goldland’ and Son Suk Ku awaiting the release of his Netflix series ‘The Road.’
