Cha Jun Hwan candidly shares why he has never been in a relationship

National figure skater Cha Jun Hwan opened up about his honest views on dating.

A recent episode of the YouTube channel 'I Didn't Even Prepare A Penny,' hosted by Lee Young Ji, featured a video titled “The 21st Century Figure Prince Is Truly Cha Jun Hwan.”

From the very beginning of the episode, Lee Young Ji greeted Cha Jun Hwan by hilariously imitating his signature quadruple jump. Laughing, he responded, “This is my first time seeing someone perform a quadruple jump right in front of me,” drawing laughter from everyone on set.

As the conversation continued in his characteristically calm and composed manner, Cha Jun Hwan candidly shared his thoughts on relationships. When Lee Young Ji brought up rumors that he had “never dated before,” he burst into laughter and replied, “I’m honestly a workaholic. I’m completely obsessed with work.”

Lee Young Ji jokingly teased him, saying, “Your lips twitched four times per second just now,” playfully questioning whether the “never-dated” rumor was actually true. Cha Jun Hwan then admitted, "If I were in a relationship, I feel like it would end up burdening the other person.”

In response, Lee Young Ji playfully shot back, “I wouldn’t date a guy like that,” to which Cha Jun Hwan immediately agreed, replying, “Exactly,” causing everyone to burst into laughter.

The conversation later shifted to his ideal type. Cha Jun Hwan, who previously mentioned Rosé of BLACKPINK as his ideal type, explained, “I really loved Rosé’s music.”

When asked again about his “real” ideal type, he answered, “Someone who works hard at what they do and has passion.”

Lee Young Ji immediately attempted to flirt with him on the spot, but Cha Jun Hwan bluntly responded, “You don’t seem too passionate,” once again sending the set into laughter.

Cha Jun Hwan also revealed details about his disciplined self-management routine. Sharing that he is 180 cm tall and weighs 65 kg, he said, “I’ve never had to lose weight. I usually just maintain it.” He also emphasized, “Eating healthily is the most important thing.”

In particular, he shocked everyone by revealing that he has “never been to a PC bang even once.” Explaining why, he said, “I was just so focused on living my own life that it ended up that way.” Lee Young Ji responded with admiration, saying, “You really have worked incredibly hard.”

Meanwhile, Cha Jun Hwan recently signed an exclusive contract with Fantagio, home to stars such as Cha Eun Woo and Kim Seon Ho. Alongside his skating career, he is expected to begin full-fledged entertainment activities, including acting and variety show appearances.
