NCT's Doyoung donates 100 million KRW (66,000 USD) to the Korea Foundation for Suicide Prevention

On May 29, the Korea Foundation for Suicide Prevention announced, "NCT's Doyoung has made a designated donation of 100 million won (about 66,000 USD) to support military soldiers at risk of suicide and to aid children and teenagers who have lost family members to suicide."
Doyoung expressed his desire to positively contribute to mental health efforts for military personnel, as well as children affected by the loss of family members to suicide. He stated, "Something I often tell my fans is, ‘Tomorrow will surely be happier than today.’ There are times when a day feels overwhelming and difficult, but I believe that, ultimately, tomorrow will move in a warmer and happier direction than today.”
Doyoung continued, “I hope that this donation conveys my message of support, and that it gives everyone the strength and courage to carry on.”
Jung Yoon Soon, the chairperson of the Korea Foundation for Suicide Prevention, stated, “Supporting the mental health of military personnel, and aiding children and adolescents affected by the loss of family members to suicide, are important tasks in establishing a suicide prevention safety net within our society.” She added, “Doyoung’s heartfelt act of support will serve as a precious lifeline for those standing on the brink of despair.”
