TXT launches global mental health campaign with UNICEF
by Minsoo-Kim · allkpopTomorrow X Together (TXT) has stepped forward to support the mental well-being of children and adolescents worldwide.
On April 29 KST, a press conference for the global campaign “Together for Tomorrow” was held at the Blue Hall of UNICEF Korea Committee in Seoul. TXT members attended the event alongside Secretary General Jo Mi Jin.
The campaign is part of a global agreement signed in New York last October between UNICEF Korea, UNICEF headquarters, and BigHit Music. It aims to create a supportive social environment where young people can freely express their emotions and seek help for mental health challenges.
Jo Mi Jin emphasized the urgency of the issue, noting that one in seven children and adolescents globally faces mental health difficulties. She highlighted that unlike physical injuries, emotional struggles are often overlooked due to their invisibility and social stigma, making initiatives like this essential.
TXT shared personal reflections during the event. Member Soobin explained that the group joined the campaign not only to give back to fans but also to embody the meaning behind their name—coming together to build a better tomorrow. Hueningkai spoke about how music helped him cope with emotional challenges during his youth, while Yeonjun reflected on the hardships of his trainee years and the resilience it built.
Soobin concluded by expressing hope that the campaign would reassure young people that they are not alone in their struggles and encourage them to find strength and hope.
Funds raised through the campaign will support global mental health programs for youth, including education for professionals, research, and advocacy efforts. TXT and BigHit Music have also pledged approximately 1.4 million USD (about 2.06 billion KRW) to further these initiatives.
