DAILY:DIRECTION returns with Y2K concept
by hjang · allkpopDAILY:DIRECTION (D:D) has unveiled teaser images for its comeback.
On June 27, agency Oddwave announced that DAILY:DIRECTION released individual comeback teaser images for its second single 'MONKEY MODE' through the group's official social media accounts at 6 p.m. KST on June 26. The group consists of Jang Yun Seok, Lim Ji Hwan, Kim Joo Hyung, Lee Won Woo, E-VAN, and EN-KIM.
In the released individual teaser images, DAILY:DIRECTION showcased styling reminiscent of boy groups from the mid-to-late 2000s. The members expressed a Y2K concept with bold smoky makeup, accessories, layered sneaker looks, and spiked chokers.
Each member added unique details to the concept. They recreated the atmosphere of second-generation boy groups by featuring star-shaped fake tattoos on their cheeks, wearing multiple caps layered together, and adding various badges.
Leader EN-KIM drew attention with team name lettering covering his entire neck. The styling was described as an application of "Fake Body Art," a visual element recently used in the K-pop scene.
Oddwave explained, "From the planning stage of this concept, the members actively shared their ideas and personally styled elements inspired by senior artists' signature looks. Fashion elements such as tattoos and fake piercings were also developed with storytelling, incorporating respect for senior artists' stages and Y2K artwork."
DAILY:DIRECTION will release its second single 'MONKEY MODE' at 6 p.m. KST on July 13 and begin promotions for its first comeback since debut.
