ZEROBASEONE becomes first 5th-generation K-Pop group to surpass 10 million album sales
by Alec06 · allkpopK-pop boy group ZEROBASEONE has surpassed 10 million cumulative album sales based on Hanteo Chart data, becoming the first fifth-generation K-pop group to achieve the milestone.
The group first made history with their debut album, YOUTH IN THE SHADE, which became the first debut album by a K-pop group to achieve double million-seller status. They followed up with their second mini album, MELTING POINT, making them double million-sellers for two consecutive releases.
ZEROBASEONE continued their streak with million-selling albums including You had me at HELLO, CINEMA PARADISE, BLUE PARADISE, and their first full-length album NEVER SAY NEVER. With the release of their sixth mini album, ASCEND-, the group officially exceeded 10 million cumulative album sales, extending their record to six consecutive million-selling albums since debut.
Released on May 18, ASCEND- topped Hanteo Chart’s daily physical album chart on its first day. The album also ranked No. 1 on QQ Music’s digital album mini-album chart in China. Meanwhile, the title track TOP 5 reached No. 1 on Spotify Japan’s Viral Chart. Its music video surpassed 40 million views in the group’s fastest time yet and ranked No. 2 worldwide in 24-hour music video views after release.
ASCEND- captures the group’s musical identity and direction as they embark on a new chapter. The title track TOP 5reinterprets 2000s dance-pop with a modern twist, blending contemporary R&B moods with hip-hop rhythms.
