AKMU, I.O.I, aespa, IVE, HWASA, and YENA win Best Song Awards at 2026 KWDA

The 2026 K World Dream Awards unveiled the Best Song Award recipients on July 28, honoring six artists who made outstanding achievements in the music scene this year. The winners include AKMU, I.O.I, aespa, IVE, HWASA, and YENA.

These artists stood out by dominating both domestic and international music charts, reflecting their strong influence in the global K-pop market. The awards emphasize celebrating the collective contributions of artists, producers, and staff who have propelled K-pop’s growth worldwide rather than focusing on rankings.

AKMU impressed with their full-length album 'Blooming', maintaining top positions on major music charts for three consecutive months. Meanwhile, HWASA showcased her powerful presence by achieving a perfect all-kill (PAK) with her single 'Good Goodbye'.

Marking their 10th anniversary, I.O.I returned with the full-group comeback track 'Suddenly', which swept key music charts, a remarkable feat after nine years since their debut. YENA also charmed fans with her title track 'Catch Catch' from the mini-album 'LOVE CATCHER', sustaining steady popularity.

aespa continued to expand their global reach with their second full-length album 'LEMONADE', topping worldwide music and album charts. IVE gained attention with the title song 'BANG BANG' from their second full album 'REVIVE+', becoming the first artist this year to secure a perfect all-kill and maintain long-term chart success.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the 2026 K World Dream Awards focus on unity within the K-pop industry, acknowledging not only artists but also the producers and staff who contribute behind the scenes. The event will take place on August 27 at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, featuring performances from popular groups such as ATEEZ, P1Harmony, RIIZE, and others. MCs Jun Hyun-moo and Jang Do-yeon will host the ceremony for the fourth consecutive year.

Fans worldwide can also participate in the ongoing global fan voting for popularity awards across four categories: male and female groups, and male and female solo artists. The final competition will feature the top 30 nominees in each category. The awards ceremony will be broadcast live through an online streaming platform, with details to be announced later.
