Kim Se Jeong, Bae Hyun Sung, & Jo Han Gyul confirmed as leads for reincarnation drama 'The Queen Goes to High School'
by Susan-Han · allkpopThe K-drama adaptation of the beloved Naver webtoon series 'High School Queen', reborn as 'The Queen Goes to High School' (working title), has actors Kim Se Jeong, Bae Hyun Sung, and Jo Han Gyul as a part of the leading cast.
The story revolves around Kim Chung Ha (played by Kim Se Jeong), the queen of Joseon who was also the most feared swordsman of the land. After being sentenced to death from a series of feuds within the palace, Kim Chung Ha is reincarnated in the body of a high school girl in the present day named Park Da Jin, who is bullied by her classmates. Now inhabiting Park Da Jin's body, Kim Chung Ha delivers punishment on her bullies using her swordsmanship.
Produced by Studio Dragon, the K-drama adaptation plans on reenacting all of the thrilling action and catharsis of the original webtoon while also enhancing the romance aspects in the story. Taking up the roles of Kim Chung Ha/Park Da Jin's love interests are actors Bae Hyun Sung and Jo Han Gyul, both rising actors who have demonstrated their potential in a broad range of projects and genres. Bae Hyun Sung most recently showcased his potential and growth as an actor in the tvN drama 'Shin's Project', while Jo Han Gyul garnered attention for his quirky character in 'Under Cover Miss Hong'.
Meanwhile, 'The Queen Goes to High School' is slated to begin filming some time in August.
