tvN unveils ‘Guardian: The Lonely and Great God' 10th anniversary special teaser featuring Kim Go Eun, Lee Dong Wook, Gong Yoo, and Yoo In Na

A special 10th anniversary commemorative program of tvN’s iconic drama ‘Guardian: The Lonely and Great God’ is set to premiere on July 4 at 9:10 PM KST. Produced as part of tvN’s 20th anniversary lineup, the show features a reunion trip to Gangneung with the original cast, including Kim Go Eun, Lee Dong Wook, Gong Yoo, and Yoo In Na.

On May 22, the production team released a teaser video showing the four actors reuniting after 10 years. The cast is seen spending time together at Gangneung’s seaside locations, where parts of the original drama were filmed. Gong Yoo warmly remarks, “Let’s have fun today,” while Kim Go Eun shares her excitement, saying, “It really feels like I’m back after 10 years.”

Lee Dong Wook reacts in disbelief, asking, “Has it already been 10 years since Goblin aired?” Yoo In Na also expresses her surprise, commenting that everyone “looks exactly the same as back then.”

The cast revisits key filming locations, including the Jumunjin breakwater in Gangneung, a symbolic site featured in major scenes from the original series. The teaser is accompanied by the OST track “Beautiful,” along with nostalgic visuals such as red scarves and fields of buckwheat flowers.

Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In Na reflect on the memories from filming, saying, “Do you remember? This is the color of the sea from ‘Guardian: The Lonely and Great God’.” Gong Yoo adds emotionally, “This feels strange,” while Yoo In Na concludes, “I don’t think I’ll ever forget this.”

Originally aired in 2016, ‘Guardian: The Lonely and Great God’ became a cultural phenomenon, becoming the first cable drama in Korea to surpass a 20 percent viewership rating. The series gained widespread acclaim for its performances, writer Kim Eun sook’s dialogue, director Lee Eung bok’s cinematic direction, and its widely loved original soundtrack.

Production staff stated, “Viewers will be able to relive the nostalgia and atmosphere of ‘Guardian: The Lonely and Great God’, which continues to be loved even after 10 years. The program will capture the chemistry between the cast and the emotional impact of that time.”
