tvN’s highly anticipated drama sequel to 'Signal,' 'The Second Signal,' has been confirmed to air on November 30 in a Monday–Tuesday slot, according to a June 30 report by MyDaily. The series will run for a total of eight episodes, with its finale scheduled for December 22.

The production team is currently preparing for the official release after finalizing the broadcast schedule, ending a prolonged period of uncertainty surrounding the drama’s airing.

'The Second Signal' returns nearly a decade after the original hit series 'Signal,' which gained critical acclaim for its unique premise of detectives in the present and past communicating through a mysterious two-way radio to solve cold cases. The original drama concluded with a peak nationwide rating of 13.4% (Nielsen Korea).

Initially planned for release earlier this year to coincide with tvN’s 20th anniversary, the sequel was postponed indefinitely following controversy involving one of its lead actors. The broadcast has now been confirmed after a long delay.

Filming for the series was completed in August last year, but its release was halted when past allegations regarding actor Cho Jin Woong resurfaced, related to his juvenile record. Reports claimed he had received juvenile protective disposition during his teenage years, including allegations involving serious offenses.

His agency, Saram Entertainment, acknowledged that the actor had engaged in misconduct during his youth, while noting that the events occurred more than 30 years ago and that full verification is difficult, as related legal procedures had already been concluded.

'The Second Signal' reunites the creative team of the original drama, including writer Kim Eun Hee and director Ahn Tae Jin. The series stars Lee Jae Hoon, Kim Hye Soo, and Cho Jin Woong, continuing the ensemble cast from the first season.
