ZEROBASEONE’s Park Gun Wook faces backlash over live broadcast conduct amid fan-sign raffle controversy
by hjang · allkpopZEROBASEONE member Park Gun Wook is facing renewed public criticism over his conduct during a live broadcast, with earlier allegations surrounding a fan-sign raffle incident also resurfacing.
On June 5, 2026, behind-the-scenes footage from Mnet’s 'M Countdown' was uploaded to the channel’s official YouTube page, showing unedited moments of the program’s MCs during the live broadcast.
In the video, Park Gun Wook appeared as a special MC alongside Kickflip’s Gye Hun and TREASURE’s So Jung Hwan. While his interactions with fans initially drew positive attention, a specific moment sparked backlash online.
After an on-stage interview segment with NCT WISH concluded, the broadcast cameras moved away as the group members bowed politely to the MCs. However, Park Gun Wook did not return the gesture, instead turning away, a move that stood in contrast to the other MCs, who acknowledged the group with bows.
The clip also showed Park Gun Wook throwing an object he was holding to the ground before suddenly making a kicking motion toward it, further adding to criticism online.
The incident has also revived discussion of a previously circulated parking lot video in which Park Gun Wook was seen kicking a traffic cone after exiting a vehicle. Critics have described the behavior as inappropriate, though he has not addressed the incident publicly.
Separately, Park Gun Wook had previously faced controversy over alleged manipulation during a fan-sign event, where he was accused of influencing a raffle draw by calling out a specific winning number to benefit a particular fan.
He initially denied the allegations when concerns were raised online. However, after related footage surfaced, he later issued a public apology.
On June 5, 2026, Park Gun Wook posted a statement on a fan communication platform, in which he said:
"I sincerely apologize for my actions at the recent fan-sign event. I should have acted with greater care and judgment, but I failed to do so, causing confusion and disappointment."
