The Boyz demand contract termination and file embezzlement charges against One Hundred Label chairman Cha Ga Won

The Boyz has escalated their legal dispute with their agency, One Hundred Label, by demanding the termination of their exclusive contracts and filing criminal charges against chairman Cha Ga Won on allegations of embezzlement.

On April 21, The Boyz’s legal representatives confirmed to SPOTV News that they have officially filed a complaint against Cha Ga Won for violations of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes, specifically embezzlement charges.

Previously, nine members of The Boyz, Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo, and Eric, excluding member New, announced that they had terminated their exclusive contracts with One Hundred Label.

Their legal team stated last month that the contracts were terminated on February 10 due to serious breaches of contract by One Hundred Label and irreversible damage to the relationship of trust, adding that the termination is legally valid and effective.

The Boyz have also alleged that the agency failed to properly support essential aspects of their activities, including unpaid staff wages and insufficient coverage of necessary performance-related expenses. However, One Hundred Label has rejected the claims, stating that it cannot accept the unilateral termination of contracts by the group.

Meanwhile, chairman Cha Ga Won is reportedly under investigation amid accusations that she raised large-scale investments under the premise of intellectual property development but failed to proceed with the promised business activities. She has also recently been named in a separate complaint involving allegations of fraud worth hundreds of billions of KRW, leading to police raids on the entertainment company.

The controversy has reportedly triggered a wave of departures from the agency, with several artists, including Lee Seung Gi, VIVIZ, Lee Mu jin, and BE’O, also parting ways with the label in recent months.
