Actress Kim Young Ok’s husband and former KBS announcer Kim Young Gil passes away at 89

Actress Kim Young Ok’s husband, Kim Young Gil, has passed away at the age of 89.

According to a report by Star News on May 17, Kim Young Ok’s husband, former KBS announcer Kim Young Gil, passed away after battling a long-term illness.

The funeral altar has been set up at the funeral hall of Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital. The funeral procession will take place at 8 AM on May 19, after which the deceased will be cremated at Byeokje Seoul Municipal Crematorium and laid to rest at Donghwa Memorial Park.

Kim Young Ok is listed as one of the chief mourners alongside their children and grandchildren.

The couple married in 1960 and had one son and two daughters together.

According to veteran actress Jeon Won Joo, Kim Young Gil was considered very handsome in his younger days. During a past broadcast appearance with Kim Young Ok, Jeon Won Joo jokingly remarked, “Brother-in-law was really handsome back then. Honestly, if my unnie hadn’t existed, I might’ve had a crush on him…”

Kim Young Ok immediately fired back, playfully glaring at Jeon Won Joo and saying, “If I didn’t exist, what? You? Do you really think my husband would’ve even looked at you if I weren’t around? You little peanut?”

In other news, Kim Young Ok runs a YouTube channel with over 154,000 subscribers and is also known for her warm friendship with MONSTA X’s Jooheon, recently appearing in a video on his channel.
