Actress Lim Ji Yeon bids farewell to 'My Royal Nemesis' as drama wraps up with peak ratings

Actress Lim Ji Yeon has shared her thoughts on saying goodbye to 'My Royal Nemesis.'

On June 21, Lim Ji Yeon posted a message and photos on her Instagram, saying, “I sincerely thank everyone who watched and loved the drama ‘My Royal Nemesis.’”

In the released photos, she revisited moments from the drama’s filming. Alongside shots taken between takes with lead actors such as Heo Nam Jun, Jang Seung Jo, Lee Se Hee, Baek Ji Won, and Kim Min Seok, there were also behind-the-scenes photos with staff, offering a glimpse into how much fun and joy Lim Ji Yeon experienced on set.

She expressed her gratitude, saying, “I would like to give my respect and applause to all the staff and actors who worked so hard through the harsh, freezing winter for ‘My Royal Nemesis.’”

In particular, Lim Ji Yeon added, “And my character Seori. Thank you for coming into my life, which felt like a vast, endless ocean. With the courage you taught me, and just that one resolve, I will try to fly freely. Like frost flowers falling in late spring and early summer, I will fly high. I loved you, Shin Seori. Goodbye, Cha Segye.”

Despite it being her first full-fledged comedy role, Lim Ji Yeon captivated viewers with an all-in, immersive performance that created numerous standout scenes. Seamlessly crossing genres such as comedy, action, and romance, she delivered a standout character portrayal comparable to playing four roles at once, even transforming her voice to match.

The character Shin Seori, brought to life by Lim Ji Yeon, drew viewers into intense emotional engagement each episode, becoming a viral sensation and earning the title of “favorite-character-for-life” among many fans.

Meanwhile, the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'My Royal Nemesis' concluded on June 20. The final episode achieved its highest ratings yet, recording 14.1% peak viewership, 11.8% in the metropolitan area, and 11.8% nationwide.
