BTS sets new Spotify record with 'ARIRANG' topping global album chart

According to Spotify’s latest rankings covering May 29 to June 4, BTS’ fifth full-length album, 'ARIRANG', claimed No. 1 on the platform’s Weekly Top Albums Global chart.
The achievement marks the group’s eighth time topping the chart, setting a new record for the most No. 1 albums on the ranking this year and surpassing previous milestones held by Bad Bunny.
BTS also maintained strong momentum on Spotify’s song charts. The title track "SWIM" remained at No. 4 on the Weekly Top Songs Global chart, while all 12 tracks from the album continued their chart run for an eleventh consecutive week.
The group’s success extends beyond streaming platforms. In the United Kingdom, ARIRANG climbed five places to No. 33 on the Official Albums Top 100 chart for the week of June 5–11. The album also remained strong in Germany, reaching No. 6 on the Top 100 Albums chart and recording an impressive 11 straight weeks inside the Top 10.
In Australia, the album experienced another surge in popularity, rising two spots to No. 6 on the ARIA Top 50 Albums chart. It also climbed five places to No. 11 on the Top 20 Vinyl Albums chart.
Critical acclaim has accompanied the commercial success. U.S. music publication Consequence recently selected both “SWIM” and “Hooligan” among the best songs of the first half of 2026.
The publication praised BTS for its musical versatility, noting that the group excels at navigating multiple genres while showcasing its strengths through intricate rap performances layered over powerful hip-hop production.
Meanwhile, BTS is set to continue its highly anticipated 'WORLD TOUR ARIRANG' with concerts at Busan Asiad Main Stadium on June 12 and 13.
