Varun Dhawan is all set to start in an action entertainer titled Baby John. So far, a few posters and promos for the film are out. Jawan director Atlee is the producer. Recently, there were reports that Salman Khan will have a special appearance in the film. If the reports are true, it will definitely be a big treat to the movie audience. Now the latest update is on Salman's role in the movie.

As per the reports, Salman Khan will be playing a cop in Baby John. His character will play a significant part in helping Varun Dhawan's character during tough times. It will help the movie's narrative to take a meaningful turn. A source told Mid-Day how Salman is known for action roles and swag, so producer Atlee and director Kalees have added a few fight sequences featuring him. The actor will enter on screen as a swashbuckling cop and have some sassy dialogues on screen.

About how the Ek Tha Tiger's character will help Varun Dhawan in Baby John, the source informed, "Salman’s cop is shown as something of a mentor to the protagonist. He will show faith in Varun’s character and bring him back to the police force. Over two days, Salman will film his introduction scene and some action set pieces. Kalees and writer Sumit Arora are pulling no punches to make sure that his cameo will be a treat for his fans."

Baby John is a remake of Tamil film Theri. Along with Varun, it also stars Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Jackie Shroff. The movie is slated to hit theatres on December 25. Speaking of Varun, the actor also has Border 2 and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. In the former, Varun will share screen space with Sunny Deol and Diljit Dosanjh. For SSKTK, he will work with his Bawaal co-star Janhvi Kapoor. On the other hand, Salman Khan is busy with Bigg Boss 18. The actor is also filming Ar Murugadoss' Sikandar. Recently, a sequel to his 2012 blockbuster film Kick, titled Kick 2, was also announced.
