Tetris Says It Had Nothing to Do with the White House’s “Build The Wall” Game and Takes Copyright Infringement “Very Seriously”

The White House launched a stack-the-blocks “Build the Wall” game on an official government site. The Tetris Company says it wasn’t involved, takes copyright infringement “very seriously,” and is reviewing the matter.

The Tetris Company is distancing itself from an official White House “Build the Wall” game that uses the falling-block format its franchise made famous.

In a statement, the company said it had no involvement in the game, takes copyright infringement “very seriously,” and is reviewing the matter. It has not announced any legal action.

Tetris, one of the best-selling video game brands of all time, has spent decades policing clones of its look and feel. This time the game it’s pointing at is on a U.S. government site.
