Elizabeth Hurley Says She and Billy Ray Cyrus Are Like Twins Because They Share the Same Hair

Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus have spent the past year as one of showbusiness’s more unexpected couples — and now, amid reports they’re engaged, the actress has been reflecting on just how much the two of them actually have in common. Her verdict, delivered with a laugh on a recent podcast, is that they’re practically identical, right down to the hair.
Discussing their relationship on the SheerLuxe podcast, Hurley joked that Cyrus’s beard is about all that separates them: “We have the same hair. Identical hair. Apart from his beard, we’re actually like twins.”
The twin talk lands the same week Page Six reported, citing sources, that Cyrus, 65, and Hurley, 61, are engaged after a little over a year together. Neither has publicly confirmed it, but Hurley set off the speculation with a mirror selfie from the set of The ‘Burbs showing a large diamond on her left ring finger, and Cyrus followed with an Instagram post signing off, “Kinda has a ring 💍 to it.”
She described them as an “unlikely pairing in some ways,” but said their everyday lives have plenty in common. Both have spent their careers traveling and have chosen homes away from city life. His farm is in Tennessee; hers is in Herefordshire, England. Work is usually what gets either of them out of the house.
“We’ve both lived out of suitcases our entire life,” she said.
The family resemblance, she joked, extends to her son Damian, 24, whose father is the late Steve Bing. Hurley said Cyrus could pass for Damian’s dad, and that a recent picture with her brother Michael made the group look like cousins.
Their habits at home are another matter. Hurley said she’s the more organized one, while Cyrus sometimes gets by on sweets or popcorn and has little food in the house when she arrives.
“He can’t cook and he doesn’t eat properly and there’s never any food in his house,” she said. “But because we both like sort of snuggling up; we’re actually quite similar.”
During an appearance on This Morning earlier in October, Hurley said Cyrus had spent months in the English countryside and loved it, and that after much of her working life in America, she’s comfortable there too.
He’s also trying to learn to cook so he can bring her breakfast, though she said the tray hadn’t arrived yet. His offer to barbecue ran into another problem: her setup uses wood and charcoal, and he was expecting gas.
