Blake Lively’s drinks business is reportedly preparing to stop operating, with some Betty Booze products still available from retailers and no closing date announced. An unnamed source said both her nonalcoholic Betty Buzz line and its alcoholic sister brand will cease operations. Lively hasn’t publicly confirmed the wind-down or given a reason for it.

Betty Buzz arrived in September 2021 with 5 sparkling drinks designed to work as mixers or on their own. Betty Booze followed in June 2023 with canned tequila and bourbon cocktails at 4.5% alcohol and a suggested price of $14.99 for a 4-pack. Vodka iced teas joined the lineup in June 2025.

Lively has long said she doesn’t drink. Introducing Betty Booze, she wrote: “Drinking isn’t my thing. But for f* sake, flavor is.” She said the drinks came from recipes she’d made for years.

The business expanded through a March 2024 distribution agreement with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits. Internal planning papers later filed in her litigation with Justin Baldoni’s company put its 2024 reach at about 6,000 accounts, but said sales and repeat orders were falling short of expectations.

Through August 2024, Betty Booze had shipped about 81,000 cases, up 183% from a year earlier but about 39% below its original target. Those documents put year-to-date gross revenue at around $3.6 million against a roughly $6 million budget. They also identified pricing and a subdued second-half marketing effort as problems, with plans to bring the 4-pack price toward $11.99 in 2025.

Retail relationships came under pressure during the 2024 promotion of It Ends With Us. In a September 10, 2024, email, a Betty Booze staffer relayed a distributor executive’s warning that Kroger expected a “negative sales impact” from Lively’s movie interviews.

Brightline also paused partnership discussions amid the publicity. Those communications document retailers’ concerns; no confirmed explanation ties the reported closure to that backlash or her legal dispute.

Betty Buzz’s 2024 case sales were much closer to its budget: about 221,800 against a planned 227,000. Even so, a later internal model included winding down the mixer business in 2025, before this week’s shutdown reports.

Several additional trademark applications have been abandoned, while the main Betty Buzz and Betty Booze trademarks remain active. As of early November, Betty Booze’s website still offered a product range and store finder, and Total Wine still listed its drinks. Her separate hair-care brand, Blake Brown Beauty, remained active in the same reporting.
