Newly released text messages between Anthony Fauci and the surgeon general are drawing attention to a private exchange about the Covid vaccine and early pregnancy.
According to texts released by GOP senators, Fauci privately told the surgeon general that the Covid vaccine could “theoretically” be linked to first-trimester miscarriage.
The exchange happened in January 2021, as officials were still deciding what to tell pregnant women about the shot. Fauci flagged that fever and cytokine storm after the second dose could, in his word, be a concern for early pregnancy.
He then landed on the same advice everyone was giving: talk to your doctor.
