Avengers: Doomsday has already pulled in $50 million USD in domestic pre-sales, according to Disney via Variety, with three months still remaining before the film’s December 18 theatrical release. The studio disclosed the figures as part of a broader update on the film’s box office trajectory ahead of its debut.

Of that $50 million USD total, Disney reported that more than 70% of pre-sales are specifically for Infinity Vision screenings, the studio’s newly established certification for premium large-format theaters. Disney unveiled Infinity Vision at CinemaCon, touting the format as delivering “the biggest, brightest and most immersive cinematic experiences” for moviegoers, and the early pre-sale split suggests audiences are prioritizing that upgraded format over standard screenings well ahead of release.

The figures were announced Wednesday by Hugh Johnston, Walt Disney Company senior executive vice president and chief financial officer, during a presentation at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference. Sharing pre-sale data this far ahead of a release, and doing so through a financial conference rather than a traditional marketing push, underscores how central Doomsday’s opening weekend performance is to Disney’s near-term outlook.

Anthony and Joe Russo direct the film, which brings together the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and the original X-Men for a story centered on Victor Von Doom. Robert Downey Jr. returns to the franchise in that role after Tony Stark’s death in Avengers: Endgame, joined by Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Paul Rudd, Letitia Wright, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, and Simu Liu reprising their MCU roles.
