IFC Films has debuted the official trailer for Best Pancakes in the County, an upcoming crime thriller written and directed by Ken Sanzel. The film stars an unrecognizable Nicolas Cage leading an ensemble cast through a high-stakes hostage situation.
Starring Cage as a fast-talking con man named The S.O.B., the narrative centers on an unimpressive small-town diner that unexpectedly turns into the location for a violent standoff involving rogue federal agents. In the trailer, Cage’s character attempts to broker a sensitive discovery, stating, “Nine years ago, there was a hard drive with dirt on the CIA,” before adding, “I hope the hard drive can be monetized.” Later in the clip, he deadpans, “Why do you think I insisted on meeting here? For the pancakes?”
Alongside Cage, the ensemble cast features Justin Long, Shelley Hennig, Lauren German, Ravi Patel, Brandon Mychal Smith, Kelly Greyson, Jaylen Moore, and Michael Sirow. Produced by Eduard Osipov, Raja Collins, Eric Brenner, Niko Fomenko, Gary Preisler, and R. Wesley Sierk III, the project follows Cage’s appearances in Longlegs, The Carpenter’s Son, and Spider-Noir, ahead of his upcoming role in David O. Russell’s Madden.
Best Pancakes in the County will be released in select theaters and on digital platforms on November 20, 2026, via IFC Films.
