Summary

NEEDLES and Pendleton link up for the first time on a six-piece capsule cut from Pendleton’s traditional plaids and wool fabrics

A boxy shirt, a jacket with leather elbow patches and a coat in an archival Pendleton pattern lead the outerwear and shirting

Plaid trousers, a mohair sweater in Pendleton’s signature Native-inspired motif and a fully lined Cowichan knit round out the lineup

NEEDLES is teaming up with Pendleton for the first time, debuting a six-piece NEEDLES x Pendleton collection that reworks the American mill’s classic plaids and wool cloth. Every garment starts from Pendleton’s fabric vocabulary, then gets recut through NEEDLES’ lens across shirting, tailoring, trousers and knits. The result is a tight capsule where the textiles do the talking and the construction choices tell you how each piece is meant to be worn.

The shirt sets the foundation for the collection with a relaxed, boxy silhouette that gives the plaid wool room to drape rather than cling. That easy cut turns a traditional flannel-weight top into something closer to a light overshirt, built for layering through the colder months. The jacket builds on the same fabric language but adds leather patches at the elbows, a reinforcement detail that nods to hard-wearing workwear and protects one of the first areas to wear through on a wool garment.

The coat is the statement piece of the drop, cut from a pattern pulled directly from Pendleton’s archive. Pairing that historical print with a full-length outer layer gives the design the most surface area to show off, making it the clearest showcase of the partnership’s archival focus. Plaid trousers complete the tailoring side, carrying the check pattern from top to bottom so the pieces can be worn as a coordinated set or broken up across a look.

The knitwear leans into texture and structure. Pendleton’s staple Native-inspired pattern appears on a sweater knit with mohair, which brings a soft, slightly brushed hand and extra warmth to the fiber blend. The Cowichan sweater, a chunky knit style with deep roots in outdoor dressing, gets a full lining throughout, a finishing step that smooths the interior against the skin and adds an extra layer of insulation.

The NEEDLES x Pendleton collection is available at Nepenthes stores and the Nepenthes online store.
