Netflix is now requiring individual emails for each profile, but not everyone yet

Starting from 15 June 2026, Netflix is now requiring that each profile has their own individual emails. Previously, 1 email covered 5 profiles, but users in the US have been reporting that each profile now needs an individual email. The roll-out seems to be gradual though, with some users in the US getting this requirement first, but we expect Malaysians to also get a notice from Netflix about it soon too.

Why Netflix??

Netflix have not actually revealed any announcement why this requirement is rolling out, but we assume it’s to tighten the rules on account sharing. So far, only adult profiles seem to be affected, so perhaps Netflix wants to customize ads or get more details on what you watch and therefore get more accurate ads data? 

What do you think? Since this hasn’t been confirmed yet, we do recommend that you take whatever speculations that you hear with a grain of salt, at least until Netflix come out with an official announcement about it.
