Sony pulls its exclusive single-player games from Steam
According to Bloomberg reporter Jason Schrier, PlayStation Studios CEO Hermen Hulst announced to PlayStation gaming staff that single-player narrative games are now exclusive to their console. Only multiplayer or live-service-type games will be offered on PC from now on. So, what should you know about it?
A lot of PlayStation Exclusive games will be…. exclusive
For your information, this means that games like the Horizon series, The Last of US, Ghost of Tsushima, and Spider-Man will remain on PS while games like Marathon and Helldivers will only go to PC. One of the reasons for this is that sales of single-player games on PC ports are not encouraging.
In addition, fans of the Horizon, Ghost of War or Spider-Man series already own a PS console, so they won't wait to buy them on PC. It's also seen as Sony's reaction to Xbox's desire to return to offering exclusive games from its studios. The possibility of Steam Machines taking over future PlayStation console sales is also a factor in PlayStation Studios games returning to exclusives.
