Android 17 coming with more content creator features in Q2 2026

Google recently announced new features coming for Android 17 which is expected to arrive sometime in Q2 2026 (June or July). These features include a larger Instagram for tablets, built-in Screen Reactions and extra editing tools. Pixels will get these features first but no exact Malaysia release dates just yet.

Screen Reactions?

Apparently, the Screen Reactions feature is a built-in function to make reaction videos without a green screen or chroma editing required. From the example, it appears to be a direct video overlay cutting out the person being recorded over what’s on the screen, perhaps as a form of screen recording. It looks like something very useful for influencers and reaction video content creators.

Optimized Instagram for tablets and better edits

Teaming up with Meta, Google will offer Ultra HDR capture and playback, better video stabilization and low-light integration for Instagram. They’ve also optimized Instagram for larger tablets and Edits will be able to smart enhance and separate or boost audio with on-device AI. 

If you’re an Adobe Premier fan, the app is also coming to Android soon, hopefully with the same optimized experience as above. It will utilize APV or Advanced Professional Video which is already available on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and vivo X300 Ultra, but is this enough to make you move your video work from iOS?
