Huawei FreeClip 2 Malaysia release - Refined open-ear design and AI audio upgrades, special promo price at RM699

In addition to the new smartwatch wearables, Huawei Malaysia also introduced the HUAWEI FreeClip 2. The new model builds on the original FreeClip concept while adding upgraded audio hardware, AI-powered call features, improved comfort, and longer battery life. Here's everything you need to know.

C-Bridge Design Refined

The FreeClip 2 continues Huawei’s inspired clip-on aesthetic with what the company calls its “Airy C-bridge Design.” Huawei says the new model uses softer skin-friendly liquid silicone combined with a shape-memory alloy structure to improve comfort and durability. Each earbud weighs just 5.1g, making it lighter than the previous generation. Huawei also claims the earbuds were refined using data from over 10,000 ear samples to improve fit and pressure distribution.

The charging case has also been redesigned with a slimmer and lighter form factor, while selected colour variants introduce a denim-textured finish for a more fashion-forward look. The earbuds are available in Black, White, Blue, and Rose Gold colour options.

The Open-Ear Audio Features

Huawei says the FreeClip 2 introduces a new dual-diaphragm driver system designed to improve bass performance, overall volume, and sound clarity compared to the original FreeClip. The earbuds also feature a built-in NPU AI processor that powers adaptive audio features, including Adaptive Volume and Adaptive Voice Enhancement. These features automatically adjust audio output and vocal clarity depending on surrounding noise conditions.

Huawei is also emphasising improved call quality with a six-microphone system combined with AI noise-cancellation algorithms designed to reduce environmental noise during voice calls. Because of the open-ear design, the FreeClip 2 allows users to maintain awareness of nearby sounds while still listening to media, making it particularly appealing for commuting, office environments, and outdoor activities.

Other Upgrades - Battery, Resistance and More

Battery life sees a noticeable improvement over the previous generation. Huawei claims the FreeClip 2 can deliver up to nine hours of playback on a single charge and up to 38 hours with the charging case. A quick 10-minute charge can reportedly provide around three hours of playback time.

The earbuds are also rated IP57 for water and dust resistance, while the charging case carries an IP54 rating. Huawei says the earbuds are designed to handle sweat, workouts, and daily outdoor usage.

Moreover, Huawei has expanded gesture functionality on the FreeClip 2 with swipe controls for volume adjustment alongside tap gestures for playback and calls. Users can also answer or reject calls using head gestures like nodding or shaking. The earbuds support dual-device connections across Android, iOS, and Windows devices, allowing users to switch between connected devices more seamlessly.
