HUAWEI Pura 90 Pro series launch - Kirin 9030S SoC, 12GB RAM, 256GB storage and more from ~RM3187
Besides the HUAWEI Pura X Max, HUAWEI also launched the HUAWEI Pura 90 Pro series. So, what should you know about it?
For your information, the Pura 90 Pro comes with a 6.6-inch screen while the Pro Max is larger at 6.9 inches, both of which use a single punch-hole design. The Pro Max design stands out more through the “emotional colour aesthetic” concept with the industry’s first dual-tone gradient metal frame finish and light effects.
Plenty of options for colours
Additionally, it is offered in colour options such as Orange Ocean, Emerald Lake and Obsidian Black. The Pro model comes in more modest colour options, such as Pink Guava and Coconut White. The Pura 90 Pro Max is equipped with a 50MP RYYB 1/1.28-inch main sensor with OIS and a variable aperture of f/1.4 to f/4.0. It is also paired with a 40MP ultra-wide camera and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens that supports 4x optical zoom and up to 8x optical zoom.
Moreover, HUAWEI claims this system offers a much higher dynamic range and up to five times better light capture than the iPhone 17 Pro Max. For the Pura 90 Pro, the camera specifications are slightly reduced with a 50MP main sensor, a 12.5MP ultra-wide and a 50MP periscope telephoto, but still maintains 4x optical zoom support.
Furthermore, the series uses the XMAGE imaging system and is equipped with a Red Maplee multispectral lens along with features such as 3D dynamic photos, enhanced portraits and AI assistance in photography. Both devices are powered by the Kirin 9030S chip and run HarmonyOS 6.1. AI features also include pose suggestions, automatic composition, portrait retouch and one-click photo creation.
Both models offer great value for money
Xiaoyi Assistant is also enhanced with real-time object recognition and voice detection. The Pro Max model is equipped with Kunlun glass, which offers up to 16 times better scratch resistance and 25% increased drop resistance, as well as reducing reflections by up to 70%. The Pura 90 Pro is offered starting at 5499 yuan (~RM3187) for the 12/256GB variant to 7499 yuan (~RM4347) for the 16/1TB variant.
Meanwhile, the Pura 90 Pro Max starts at 6499 yuan (~RM3767) and goes up to 8499 yuan (~RM4927) for the top 16/1TB variant.
