Samsung begins global rollout of One UI 8.5 starting 11 May 2026, including Malaysia
Samsung Malaysia Newsroom has officially announced the rollout of One UI 8.5, with the global release beginning from 11 May onwards for supported Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The update brings Samsung’s latest Galaxy AI features, alongside improvements focused on communication, creativity, multitasking, and overall user experience across the Galaxy ecosystem.
Which Galaxy Devices Are Part of the First Wave?
Samsung confirmed that the first phase of the rollout will cover devices including the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, Samsung Galaxy S24 series, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6, as well as the Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S10 tablet series. Samsung also indicated that additional devices, including selected Galaxy A series smartphones, will receive the update in later phases, depending on region and hardware capability.
One UI 8.5 places strong emphasis on AI-powered experiences, continuing Samsung’s broader push into on-device and cloud-assisted artificial intelligence features. The update introduces upgraded Galaxy AI tools designed to improve communication, productivity, image editing, and content sharing. For Malaysian Galaxy users, the announcement confirms that Southeast Asia is included in Samsung’s broader global rollout plan beginning from 11 May onwards.
