Henry Cavill to star in Voltron's live-action film

Hollywood star Henry Cavill will reportedly be playing the lead role in Voltron's live-action film. The movie will be presented by Amazon MGM Studios.

Hollywood star Henry Cavill will be playing the lead role in the live-action film of Voltron, The Hollywood Reporter reported. Rawson Marshall Thurber will be helming the project with a script from Ellen Shanman. Thurber is known for directing Netflix's Red Notice, which featured Gal Gadot, Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson in lead roles.

Amazon MGM Studios will be presenting the film. Cavill will be joining the previously announced cast of Daniel Quinn-Toye.

As of now, plot details are scarce. The film will be bankrolled by Todd Lieberman via Hidden Pictures, Bob Koplar, Thurber and David Hoberman.

The Voltron series originally centred around a team of space explorers who pilot a giant super robot.

On the work front, Cavill was most recently seen making a cameo appearance as a Wolverine variant, Cavillrine, in Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-starrer, Deadpool and Wolverine.

The actor has Chad Stahelski’s Highlander reboot and Guy Ritchie's In the Grey in the pipeline. He will also be executive producing Warhammer 40,000.
