Xiaomi could see a busy second half of the year 2026 in terms of phone launches in India. From its Redmi devices to its flagship, all are reportedly going to ship in a few months starting in September. A fresh leak is circulating online, revealing the upcoming launch timeline for Chinese companies in India.

Tipster Abhishek Yadav revealed on X that the Redmi 17 series – launched globally today – could launch in India on September 5. Following the 17 series' debut, the brand could also launch the Redmi Note 17 Pro series on September 18 or September 20. Then there are the big fishes. The Xiaomi 18 Pro series is expected to ship in India by the end of this year, in December. They are said to feature a tiny secondary display on the back.

What could Xiaomi’s upcoming mobiles bring to the table

The Redmi 17 series made its global debut today, offering key insights into what we can expect from the upcoming Indian variant. Notably, the global variant ships with a higher level of upgrades than the Chinese variant that launched earlier this month. The global variant ships with a 6.9-inch HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 825 nits peak brightness. The 5G model is powered by the 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset. It features a 50-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera, with video recording up to 1080p at 30fps. It packs a large 7,500mAh battery with 45W wired charging and 22.5W reverse charging.

On the other hand, the Chinese version of the Redmi Note 17 Pro features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,500-nit peak brightness. It is powered by the 4nm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, paired with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. For photography, the device gets a 50-megapixel primary rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The phone packs a massive 9,000mAh battery with 67W wired charging and 22.5W reverse charging.

To give you some context, the Redmi Note 17 is already available in India. It features a large 7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,800 nits peak brightness. It is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The phone has a 50-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. It packs an 8,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging and 22.5W reverse charging.
