Bhojpuri actor and singer Pawan Singh has publicly apologised to rumoured ex-girlfriend Akshara Singh and her family during a Durga Puja event in Munger, Bihar. The actor also hinted that the two could reunite on screen soon, raising hopes among fans who have long wanted to see the former co-stars work together again.
Pawan made the remarks while attending the Durga Puja celebrations in Kalyanpur, Munger, where he was invited as the chief guest for a cultural programme. He addressed the crowd from the stage and spoke about his relationship with Akshara and her parents, asking for their forgiveness.
Calling Akshara his 'babu', Pawan said, “Akshara mera babu hai, mera beta hai. Unke pitaji mere bhaiya hain aur unki mataji meri bhabhi hain (Akshara is my dear one, my baby. Her father is like my elder brother, and her mother is like my sister-in-law.)
He went on to say that he had apologised to Akshara from the heart and asked the audience to applaud.
"Main dil se sorry bola hoon. Agar Akshara ji ke mata-pita ko mere chalte bura mehsoos hua hai aur galat laga hai, toh main bhaiya-bhabhi ko sorry bolta hoon aur unhe pranam karta hoon (I have apologised to Akshara from the heart. If my actions hurt Akshara’s parents or made them feel that something wrong had happened, I apologise to them and offer them my respects)," he said.
Pawan also reflected on the role of fate and said that what happened was ultimately in God's hands. He then asked the audience whether they wanted to see him and Akshara together on screen again.
"Aap mein se kitne bhai-behen chahte hain ki hum dono ki jodi ek baar phir se nazar aaye (How many of you would like to see us together as a pair once again)?" he asked.
The crowd responded with cheers and applause. Pawan then said, “Toh bahut jaldi hum log ek saath nazar aayenge (Then we will be seen together very soon)."
His remarks have fuelled speculation about a possible reunion, although he did not announce any film or music project featuring the two.
Pawan Singh and Akshara Singh’s past
Pawan Singh and Akshara Singh were once among the popular on-screen pairs in Bhojpuri cinema. They worked together on several films and songs, earning a following among audiences. The two were also rumoured to be in a relationship.
Their relationship reportedly ended after Pawan married Jyoti Singh in 2018. In 2019, Akshara accused Pawan of mental harassment, physical abuse, threats and other forms of mistreatment, and an FIR was registered in connection with the allegations.
Pawan has also responded to the controversy. While his public apology in Munger has fuelled speculation about a possible reunion, Akshara has previously said that she has moved on in her personal life and is not interested in working with him again.
