Months after RJ Mahvash and Yuzvendra Chahal unfollowed each other on social media, sparking widespread speculation, the content creator has finally reacted to the buzz. Addressing the incident in a recent interview, she dismissed it as a minor issue between friends.
In an interview with Pinkvilla on their podcast channel Mahvash responded to questions about Chahal and her unfollowing each other on social media. She said people were overanalysing a very normal situation between friends.
"People have a habit of making a fuss over small things. It is not such a big deal when you go through it. Like two friends had an argument and they follow-unfollowed each other. And the matter ends there," she said.
She added that friends who are comfortable enough to “talk absolute nonsense” with each other should not hold grudges. She further said she would always wish him well with her best wishes and that there was nothing significant to read into the situation.
She further dismissed speculation of any romantic angle, stressing that she had only been a supportive friend during a challenging phase in his life.
"No, that was never the case. I have been a great friend to him. At that time, (during Chahal's separation phase) he needed a good friend. So we all were just focusing on him to get done with his IPL season. I stood with him as a support system. Henceforth also, we'll always meet the way we met earlier. I will fearlessly stand by him," she said.
The two have remained in the public eye since Dhanashree Verma’s separation and subsequent divorce from Chahal, which was finalised last year.
Their frequent appearances together at cricket matches and public events further fuelled speculation, although both have consistently maintained they are just friends.
Despite ongoing rumours, Mahvash has repeatedly reiterated that there was never any romantic involvement between them, even during the period when public attention around their bond was at its peak.
Meanwhile, RJ Mahvash has also stepped into acting with her debut series Pyar Paisa Profit, adapted from Durjoy Datta’s novel Now That You’re Rich Let’s Fall In Love.
