Noida schools revise timings amid severe heatwave, students get relief

As the heatwave continues to intensify, the Gautam Buddha Nagar administration has revised school timings in Noida and Greater Noida to protect students from extreme weather conditions. The decision aims to reduce children's exposure to harsh afternoon temperatures and rising heat levels.

With temperatures soaring rapidly and heatwave conditions turning harsher with each passing day, the Gautam Buddha Nagar administration has taken urgent steps to safeguard students from the extreme weather.

Rising daytime heat has raised concerns over children’s health and safety during school hours.

In a major relief for parents and children, school timings across Noida and Greater Noida have now been revised with immediate effect. According to the latest order, the new schedule has come into effect from today.

NEW SCHOOL TIMINGS FOR NOIDA AND GREATER NOIDA

As per the latest district administration order, all council-run, government, aided, and private schools in Gautam Buddha Nagar will now function only from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm.

The directive applies to all schools affiliated with major education boards, including CBSE, ICSE, IB, and the UP Board.

Authorities said the decision has been taken keeping in mind the health, safety, and well-being of students amid rising temperatures and ongoing heatwave conditions in Noida, Greater Noida, and other parts of Delhi-NCR.

Shorter school hours are expected to reduce students’ exposure to extreme afternoon heat.

ORDER EFFECTIVE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Officials confirmed that the revised school timings will remain in force until further orders are issued by the district administration, depending on weather conditions and the intensity of the heatwave.

The District Magistrate has also directed all government, aided, and private schools in Gautam Buddha Nagar to strictly comply with the new timing order and ensure immediate implementation.
