Actor Nagarjuna has praised the Ramayana: Part One trailer as "brilliant," expressing special appreciation for Ranbir Kapoor and Yash while highlighting how trailers shape audience expectations and opening-day success.

Actor Nagarjuna has lauded the trailer of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana: Part One as "brilliant," praising actors Ranbir Kapoor and Yash. The highly anticipated mystical drama, based on sage Valmiki's ancient text Ramayan, continues to draw widespread attention from fans and the Indian film industry.

In a recent interview with Variety India, Nagarjuna shared his reaction to the much-awaited glimpse and said Ranbir Kapoor and Yash stood out to him. Without revealing much about the film, he said, "I think it was brilliant. I really liked Yash and Ranbir."

Nagarjuna also spoke about the expectations attached to film trailers today. He said audiences often treat a trailer as their first introduction to a film and use it to decide whether they want to watch it.

"As far as people's expectations are concerned, it is only natural. Whether it's an Indian, Hollywood or Korean film, you look at the trailer first and figure out whether it is something that you actually want to watch,” he said. “So, trailers have become very important. And they make a lot of difference to the opening of any film," he added.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. Actor Arun Govil, who portrayed the lead role in legendary filmmaker Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan, is playing king Dashratha in Ramayana: Part One.

Actors Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek Oberoi and Saurabh Sachdeva play Kaikeyi, Shurpanakha, Vidyutjihva and Maricha respectively.

Ramayana: Part One will trace Lord Rama’s formative years, relationships and emotional journey, beginning with his Gurukul days and Sita Swayamvar before moving into the 14-year exile with Sita and Lakshmana. The film is expected to end on a major cliffhanger, setting up the larger conflict and war in Ramayana: Part Two, which is slated for release during Diwali 2027.

The first instalment is set for a theatrical release on November 8, 2026, in India.
