Asian Para Games schedule for Oct 23: India eye record medal haul with final flourish

India are just 21 medals away from securing their best-ever haul at the Para Asian Games and will be hoping for one final flourish on Friday, October 22. Sumit Antil, Navdeep Singh and Dharambir Nain will be in action as athletics, shooting, badminton and archery will be expected to lead India's medal rush.

In Short

• Sumit Antil spearheads a strong para-athletics contingent across multiple medal events
• Pramod Bhagat faces Nitesh Kumar in an all-Indian badminton final
• Avani Lekhara and Mona Agarwal will look to add to shooting medals

India's medal tally has climbed to 88 at the Asian Para Games, leaving the country 21 short of its highest-ever return at the continental event. With several medal contenders set to take the field on Friday, Day 5 in Aichi-Nagoya could prove crucial to India's record-breaking ambitions.

Para-athletics will once again be a major source of hope, with javelin star Sumit Antil leading the charge alongside fellow Paralympic gold medallists Navdeep Singh and Dharambir Nain. Antil, who has won Paralympic, World and Asian titles, will be among the biggest names to watch as India looks to add to its medal collection.
