Telangana teen gang-raped by 7 people, including 3 minors, on Dussehra

Police said the seven accused, all of whom have been arrested, kidnapped the girl on Dussehra while her parents were away working in their fields and took her to a neighbouring village, where they gang-raped her.

A 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by seven people, including three minors, in Telangana’s Siddipet district on Dussehra while her parents were away working in the fields, police said. A case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

According to police, the incident took place on Dussehra when the girl’s parents had gone to work in their fields. The seven accused kidnapped the teenager and took her to a neighbouring village, where the crime took place.

The accused dropped the girl near her village the following morning.

After returning home, the girl told her parents about the incident, following which her father approached the police and filed a complaint.

Acting on the complaint, police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and took all seven accused into custody, including three minors.

The accused hail from Cheriyal town and Dhoolmitta village in Telangana. Police are investigating the case and further details are awaited.
