Bigg Boss Telugu 3 contestant and actor Ashu Reddy has been charged in an alleged cheating case amounting to Rs 9.35 crore, with the Hyderabad Central Crime Station confirming that a case was registered on April 26. The matter is under investigation and is based on allegations made by a non-resident Indian (NRI) and his family.

According to a report by Siasat, the complaint was filed by Satyanarayana, a resident of Shaikpet in Hyderabad, on behalf of his son, YV Dharmendra, a London-based software engineer. The complaint alleged that Dharmendra met Ashu in 2018 and that she convinced him to enter into a relationship on the pretext of a marriage promise.

The family has alleged that, over the years, Dharmendra spent a large sum of money on Ashu, including on luxury vehicles, nearly 5 kgs of gold and multiple residential properties. The complaint stated that these were registered in Ashu’s name and further alleged that she later backed out of the proposed marriage.

The complaint also alleged that Ashu’s sister borrowed Rs 50 lakh from Dharmendra and did not return the money. Based on these allegations, a case has been filed against Ashu Reddy and her family members.

Confirming the development, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crimes/Detective Department) S Chaitanya Kumar said the investigation was continuing. “Enquiry is still going on. Prima facie, a first information report (FIR) has been issued in what appears to be a live-in relationship case. The luring of money happened in close proximity with the person,” he said.

He added, “After getting to know she is an actress, we started a deeper investigation and thus cannot disclose every detail at the moment. The complainant is also not in a position to share more details.”

Responding to the allegations, Ashu Reddy denied any wrongdoing. In a statement shared on social media, she said false and misleading information was being circulated without her consent and warned of legal action against those spreading unverified claims.

Ashu Reddy rose to prominence through her stint on Bigg Boss Telugu 3 and has since remained a known face on Telugu television.
