Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq launch edition debuts with new triple-screen cabin

Mahindra has unveiled the BE 6 Sporteq launch edition with a redesigned dashboard, triple-screen cabin and new connected features, while retaining the existing battery options and electric powertrain.

Mahindra has introduced the BE 6 Sporteq launch edition as the new flagship version of its electric coupe-SUV. The special edition brings substantial changes to the cabin and adds new software-driven features, while the underlying electric powertrain remains unchanged. It will sit above the standard BE 6, which is currently priced from Rs 18.90 lakh to Rs 26.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq: What is new?

The most significant update is the redesigned interior. The Sporteq gets three 12.3-inch screens arranged across the dashboard, replacing the two-screen configuration of the regular BE 6. The layout is similar to the one already seen in Mahindra’s XEV 9e and XEV 9S.

Mahindra has also reworked the dashboard design. The distinctive loop-shaped element around the driver has been replaced by a more conventional horizontal arrangement. This has freed up space around the centre console, making the wireless charging area and USB Type-C ports easier to access while adding more storage.

The cabin gets a new black-and-tan colour scheme, along with revised seat upholstery and dashboard finishes. On the outside, however, the Sporteq remains largely identical to the standard BE 6. Changes are limited to the Sporteq branding, with the coupe-SUV continuing with its sharp styling, flush door handles, LED lighting and 20-inch alloy wheels.

New TEQ software features

Mahindra has used the Sporteq to introduce a new collection of connected and software-based functions called TEQ. These features are aimed at making the vehicle more personalised and adding new functionality to the infotainment and driving systems.

Among the highlights is TEQ_Me, which can identify the driver and automatically load their saved profile. TEQ_Talk adds Google Gemini integration, bringing Google's AI assistant into the vehicle.

Another feature, TEQ_xting, allows users to put customised messages on the BE 6's rear display. Meanwhile, TEQ_Drive brings together several driving-focused functions, including a custom drive mode, Tribe Drive, Drift Mode and Acceleration Boost.

The Sporteq also introduces Revive SOS, which Mahindra says can provide sufficient charge to travel up to 13km after the battery has reached zero percent. The emergency function can be activated a maximum of five times during the vehicle's lifetime.

Other equipment carried over from the BE 6 includes a panoramic glass roof, Harman Kardon sound system, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera and ADAS.

Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq: Battery and range

There are no changes to the mechanical package. The Sporteq continues with the BE 6's 59kWh and 79kWh battery options, with the electric motor mounted on the rear axle.

The motor produces up to 286hp and 380Nm, while the 79kWh version has a claimed MIDC range of 682km. Charging specifications and performance figures are also unchanged.

Mahindra is yet to announce the exact price of the BE 6 Sporteq launch edition. It is expected to command a premium over the standard BE 6 and will occupy the top end of the model's line-up.
