Five more people, who sustained grievous injuries as several vehicles collided on the Yamuna Expressway in Meerut on Tuesday, succumbed to their injuries on Wednesday, taking the death toll in the incident to 18, a top district official confirmed.

Early morning on Tuesday, at least 13 people were killed and about 75 others were injured after a massive pile-up of eight buses and three cars on the Delhi–Agra Expressway near Uttar Pradesh's Meerut. Officials said dense fog caused the chain collision, with several vehicles crashing into one another and catching fire.
