The case was registered on July 31 against her husband, Abhineet Vidyanand Kaushik, her mother-in-law, Urmila Kaushik, 65, and sister-in-law, Kirti Kaushik, 29.

Aditi Sharma is known for her roles in television shows including Apollena – Sapno Ki Unchi Udaan, Rabb Se Hai Dua and Kaleerein.

In her complaint, Aditi has alleged physical and mental harassment, domestic violence, assault, verbal abuse, allegations against her character, and misappropriation of her stridhan (bridal jewellery).

The FIR invokes Sections 3(5) (common intention), 316(2) (criminal breach of trust), 352 (intentional insult), and 85 (cruelty by a husband or his relatives against a married woman) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

What Aditi Sharma alleged

According to her statement to the police, Aditi met Abhineet during an online acting class in June 2021. The two became friends and later entered into a relationship.

The couple began living together in a flat in Goregaon West in September 2024 and got married on November 12, 2024, with the consent of both families.

Aditi alleged that her husband's behaviour changed two or three days after their wedding. She claimed that he began objecting to her choice of clothes and would pick arguments over minor issues.

She further alleged that her husband did not contribute towards household expenses and would instead take money from her.

According to the complaint, an argument over coffee on January 1, 2025, escalated into verbal abuse. Aditi alleged that her husband subsequently questioned her character, accused her of having an affair and frequently checked her phone. She also claimed that he began sleeping in a separate room and prevented her from speaking to her parents.

Aditi has also accused her mother-in-law of keeping her wedding jewellery, including gold chains, rings, a diamond ring, a mangalsutra and bangles. She alleged that despite repeated requests, the jewellery was not returned.

She further claimed that when her mother-in-law and sister-in-law visited the couple's home to resolve the dispute, they sided with her husband and allegedly subjected her to further harassment.
