Taapsee Pannu’s action thriller Gandhari is set to premiere on Netflix on September 3, 2026. Written and produced by Kanika Dhillon and directed by Devashish Makhija, the film centres on a mother’s relentless fight to find and protect her daughter.

Set in the fictional town of Joypurra, the film follows Bani, a mother whose life takes a dangerous turn when she sets out in search of her daughter. As she moves closer to finding her, Bani is forced to face a series of threats and confront unimaginable challenges.

Gandhari promises high-octane action and an emotional story. The film also marks one of Taapsee’s most physically demanding roles, with the actor taking on extensive action sequences.

Alongside Taapsee, the film also stars Ishwak Singh, Chhaya Kadam, Swastika Mukherjee, Mita Vashisht and Jatin Sarna. The ensemble cast plays key roles in Bani’s journey as she navigates an increasingly dangerous world while getting closer to her daughter.

The film marks another collaboration between Taapsee, Kanika and Netflix after Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba. Their previous collaboration was followed by the success of the romantic thriller, which also starred Vikrant Massey and Sunny Kaushal.

Speaking about Gandhari, Kanika said she wanted to tell the story of a woman who refuses to be defined by her circumstances. She described Bani’s journey as “raw, relentless and deeply personal” and said reuniting with Taapsee was particularly special because of the creative trust they have developed over the years.

Netflix India’s Director, Original Films, Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh described Gandhari as a “bold, emotionally charged action thriller” that turns a mother’s love into a powerful force.

Gandhari is set to arrive on Netflix on September 3, 2026.
