Actor Bobby Deol has joined Tamil superstar Vijay's last film, tentatively titled Thalapathy 69. An official announcement welcoming him on board was made on social media platform X by KVN Productions, the official company backing the project. The note on X included a poster, but the makers didn't give away more details about his character in the film.

Speculations have been rife for a long time about Bobby joining Vijay in the last film of his career, directed by H Vinoth. However, on Tuesday, October 1, KVN Productions wrote on X: "100% official now, Super happy & excited to announce that @thedeol joins #Thalapathy69 cast #Thalapathy69CastReveal (sic)."

Earlier, a report in Deccan Herald mentioned that Bobby has joined the film as the main villain. This is going to be his second South outing after his Tamil debut with Suriya in Kanguva. The actor's performance as seen in various promos of Kanguva, has inceased his popularity among South Indian cinema lovers.

The casting rumours around Thalapathy 69 are going viral with many even suggesting that the film might feature Pooja Hegde, Mohanlal and Mamitha Baiju, among others. The makers are going to reveal more names in separate announcements today, October 1.

They are also yet to talk about the release date and the final title of the film.
