The trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has rewritten the record books, racking up a staggering 718.6 million views within 24 hours of release. Dropped by Sony Pictures on Wednesday morning, the teaser has officially become the biggest movie trailer launch in history.
In fact, the numbers weren’t even close. The trailer surged past the previous benchmark set by Deadpool & Wolverine, which managed 365 million views in a day. Within just eight hours, Brand New Day had already crossed 373 million views, overtaking its predecessor and signalling unprecedented global anticipation.
How big is this record-breaking debut?
Beyond films, the Brand New Day trailer now holds the record for the most-viewed trailer of any kind. It surpasses the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, whose trailer amassed 475 million views in 24 hours. Sony had primed audiences with short teaser snippets a day earlier, helping build momentum ahead of the full reveal.

What is the film about?
The film marks Tom Holland’s return as Spider-Man following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which grossed USD 1.9 billion globally. Set four years later, the story follows Peter Parker living in isolation after erasing himself from the memories of those closest to him.
Now operating as a full-time Spider-Man in a city that no longer recognises him, Peter faces mounting pressure that triggers a dangerous physical transformation. At the same time, a new wave of crime introduces one of his most formidable threats yet.

The ensemble cast includes Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo. The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, with a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Producers include Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal.
