Delhi Police has arrested a suspected shooter linked to the Harry Boxer-Lawrence Bishnoi gang in an extortion case involving a Rs 5-crore demand and two firing incidents targeting a businessman, police sources said.

The accused, Jagdish alias Jack, was arrested from Malda in West Bengal. Earlier, one of his associates, Vikas, had been arrested from Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh in the same case, the sources said.

According to the sources, the case began with a complaint by a resident of Delhi's Chhawla area, who said he received a call from a foreign number on January 12, 2025. The caller allegedly identified himself as gangster Harry Boxer, an associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, and threatened him, asking him to tell one of his friends, a businessman, to pay Rs 5 crore or face serious consequences.

Eight days later, unidentified assailants allegedly fired three rounds outside a gym linked to the businessman. “The following day, the complainant's brother received a call, in which the caller — once again identifying himself as Harry Boxer — claimed responsibility for the firing,” a source said. Police then registered a case and began an investigation.

On June 26, another firing incident was reported, with several rounds allegedly fired at the businessman's residence. Soon after, the businessman allegedly received a call in which the caller, claiming to be Harry Boxer, took responsibility for the attack.

Based on technical surveillance and human intelligence, police arrested Vikas from Mainpuri in connection with the alleged extortion bid, the sources said. His interrogation led investigators to Jagdish. A police team then went to West Bengal and, after a seven-day operation across four states covering nearly 2,500 km, arrested Jagdish near Kamla Bari railway gate in Malda.

Police said Jagdish was produced before a court in Malda and brought to Delhi on a two-day transit remand for further interrogation. The case centres on an alleged Rs 5-crore extortion demand, followed by firing incidents outside a gym and at the businessman's home, with two arrests made so far.
